Commentary for II Samuel 19:37

כִּמְעַ֞ט יַעֲבֹ֧ר עַבְדְּךָ֛ אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן אֶת־הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וְלָ֙מָּה֙ יִגְמְלֵ֣נִי הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ הַגְּמוּלָ֖ה הַזֹּֽאת׃

Thy servant would but just go over the Jordan with the king; and why should the king recompense it me with such a reward?

Your servant will just cross over. You servant will accompany you a little further after you cross the Yardein.
